Professional Training Programmes

Help your teams
think and work with data

CICL Technology & Data training builds practical capability in Excel, Power BI, Python and analytics so that teams can move beyond manual reporting and start using data to shape better decisions.

Who our Technology & Data programmes are for

We support organisations that want more people—not just a small data team—to be comfortable exploring, questioning and using data in their roles.

Discuss your teams Request Proposal

Business & data analysts

Analysts and reporting specialists who need stronger skills in Excel, Power BI, data modelling and storytelling with dashboards.

Functional teams & managers

Operations, HR, finance, sales and customer teams who rely on reports but want to move beyond manual spreadsheets and guesswork.

Leaders & decision-makers

Senior leaders who must interpret dashboards, ask better questions about data and use evidence in strategic and operational decisions.

Data & digital teams

Data, IT and digital teams who need to improve collaboration with the business, clarify requirements and increase dashboard adoption.

Technology & data gaps we help you close

We focus on the real barriers that stop teams from using data—from spreadsheet chaos and siloed reports to unclear dashboards and low confidence with tools.

Spreadsheet overload

Important processes run on fragile spreadsheets with complex formulas, manual reconciliations and limited documentation.

Dashboards no one trusts

Multiple versions of the truth across reports and dashboards, limited adoption and stakeholders who struggle to interpret visuals.

Data scattered across systems

Data stored in several tools, exports and files with little standardisation, naming hygiene or clear ownership.

Low confidence with tools

Teams who underuse Excel, Power BI or analytics tools because they lack practical training tailored to their context and use-cases.

How our Technology & Data programmes run

We design technology and data learning around real workflows and decisions—so people practise on the types of questions and reports they handle every day.

Step 1

Data landscape & skills diagnostics

We review your key reports, systems, tools and roles—alongside a light diagnostic—to understand current data practices and skills.

Tailored learning paths by audience

We design different learning paths—for analysts, functional managers and leaders—with the right depth, tools and exercises for each group.

Hands-on labs with real scenarios

Participants practise with guided labs in Excel, Power BI or Python, using scenarios similar to actual reporting and analysis tasks.

Dashboard & report design clinics

We run clinics focused on turning raw data into clear visuals, improving existing dashboards and defining standards for layout, labels and commentary.

View clinics

Embedded use-cases & projects

Teams complete guided mini-projects—such as redesigning a key report or building a new dashboard—that deliver visible value back into the organisation.

Plan your Technology & Data programme

Your Technology & Data enablement toolkit

Every engagement leaves you with reusable assets—templates, guides and examples—that help standardise how data is prepared and presented across the organisation.

Data capability you can see in behaviour

We care less about how many features participants can list, and more about whether they change how they use data to ask questions, solve problems and make decisions.

Adoption

Higher use of dashboards & reports

Organisations see higher and more consistent use of dashboards and reports, with fewer ad-hoc manual extracts and offline versions.

FAQs

Clear answers to common questions about CICL Technology & Data programmes.

Do participants need laptops and the relevant tools installed?

Yes. For most Technology & Data programmes, participants should have laptops with the required tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Python environment) installed before sessions begin.

Can you adapt to our existing BI or reporting tools?

In many cases, yes. We can adapt content to your stack as long as we understand the tools and have the right access to prepare examples and exercises.

How technical are your Technology & Data programmes?

We can run highly practical non-technical tracks for business users, as well as deeper technical tracks for analysts and data teams. We calibrate based on your audience and goals.

Can we start small with a pilot?

Yes. Many clients start with a pilot programme for one function or location, then extend to wider teams once the approach and impact have been validated.

Do you provide post-training support?

We can design follow-up clinics, office hours or coaching sessions to help teams embed new practices and refine dashboards or reports.

What are the next steps if we are interested?

We begin with a discovery conversation to understand your systems, teams and priorities. Based on that, we propose a programme outline, delivery format and investment options.

Data Protection

We recognise that Technology & Data training often involves reference to real or realistic data. Any sample data shared with CICL is treated as confidential and handled in line with your organisation’s data protection policies.

Where possible, we encourage anonymised or synthetic data that reflects your structures without exposing sensitive information. Access to any real data is restricted to authorised CICL consultants working on your engagement.

Training materials, lab files and example datasets are stored securely for the agreed duration of the engagement and follow-up. After this period, they are removed from our active systems unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Our goal is to create a safe environment where people can learn and practise with data, without compromising privacy, confidentiality or security.
